Re: The .375 x 55 Swiss (AKA .375 x .284 Win)
Thanks Steve.
God willin' and the creek don't rise, I'll get to the range tomorrow. It's been snowing steady for the last three days, but I'm goin' regardless of the weather. (Unless it's blowing 90 - which it was 5 days ago.) I'll be shooting the .375x284 Win with the 260 Accubonds; the Long-throated Steyr 8mm with the 220 Sierras; and the .338 MAI with the 225 Hornadys. The MAI will just be to confirm that the 'scope is still on target after taking it off the rifle for some reason I now forget.
The .375 and the 8mm will both get the Optimal Charge Weight procedure, which in this case will entail shooting four rounds each of 5 separate loads, ranging from 1% below the theoretical Optimal Barrel Timing charge (for Node 5), to 3% below. In the case of the .375, that will be increments of about 0.35 grains. For the 8mm, it will be increments of about 0.25 grains. Hopefully, the precision 'sweet-spot' will occur somewhere within that minus 1% to minus 3% window. It has in the past.
