Who creates a better stock ,...HS Precision or McMillian. I am only looking for one or the other as this is the choice I have narrowed my final decison to. So if your a fan or happen to own either one by all means,....if not well you get the idea.

AwakeNJ,

IMO, they are both of high quality.  I would purchase either one and be a happer camper.  Purchase price would be my guideline.

If the stock was custom the answer would be different.  I gotta agree with John on this one.

Having shot John's Hogue, and stocks from both manufacturers listed, I'd try to find a Hogue that fit my rifle. I cared for neither the McMillan or the HS Precision - very stiff and very plastic. HOWEVER, that was probaly 10 years ago. Maybe they have improved. The Hogue was used recently. It looked good enough for a "plastic" stock, but it felt good and shot well; meaning that it didn't transfer recoil like other plastic stocks I've shot.

Both are pretty bloody good in my opinion, I own both.

HS precision varmint .243. and a GAP .338 lapua w/ mcmillan A-5......

Both are top quality, and I think you'll need to shoulder both and see for yourself.

opinions and all that.
