I am looking to purchase a 9mm hand gun and was wondering what brands I should consider. My family bought me a gun case and safe at www.americathegreatoutdoors.com and now I just need to find the right gun to go with them. Any thoughts?

What sort of criteria have you set for your new gun?  Self defense? Target shooting? Plinking? Concealed? Popular makes are of Springfield Armory XD, Glock, Taurus and of course Beretta.
