My wife is very selective about meat, basically, ham burger, pig burger or lean sausage, so when I was at HEB yesterday, I was happy to find 80/20 pig burger on sale for $1.25 lb, I bought her 5 lb, all they had ground up.
So, she has 20 patties of meat I can fix for her.

Believe it or not, the local very high priced super market has just posted boston butt, bone in, for $1 lb and boneless angus chuck roast at $2.99 lb.
I shall have to put some in the freezer.
Just stumbled on a new taste treat.
Neighbor gave me some  cucumbers, I decided to make bread and butter pickles.
Messed up and had too much pickle.
Looked around and found some of my lean pork smoked sausage, microwaved some, drained the surplus grease, packed a jar with sausage, onion, garlic and a ripe cayenne pepper.
Got the pickle to boiling and filled the jar.
After 4 days I tried it, one problem, it is not going to last very long, too good.

Meat prices are really dropping, boneless pork loin , 1.49lb, boneless beef chuck roast, 2.49lb, cluck hind legs, .29c lb..
And, this is the high dollar place, it is going to be interesting to see what HEB prices are.

Does HEB carry USDA stamps? Those prices are sensational!

Not fully clear, are you asking if the meats are USDA inspected?
If that is your question, the answer is , yes.
HEB has over 150 stores, including several in Mexico and are an old co. started in 1903.
