The deer are filling their Camelbacks at my horse tank. When I pulled up with a load of water, six deer were already waiting for a drink. Last winter (2010-11) it was feed this summer it's water.

We moved the equines across the road this morning and there's barely enough grass to last them a month. Usually we don't put them over there until late July and move them back in mid October.

Also, start hauling at least 2 tanks a day.
Get a bigger truck and tank, while you are at it.

They keep telling us we are in a drought yet there has almost NOT been a day since march that is HAS NOT rained. We dug out the old fish pond after the rats ate the liner the other winter. IT's about 3 feet deep and the bottom 10" is already filled with water due to the water table and the darned rains last week. Once we dig out the top and shelf for plants it's wait for it to dry out a bit so we can put in a new liner.

Oh it's not raining today ............................................ yet!

Been raining  and windy here most everyday for the last three months.  Everything is quite green.  Have some grasses outside of the pasture fence that are over three foot tall.  Hope the deer and elk are growing  the well also.

The last measurable rain we have had in central Linn County, Missouri was on the 12th of May.....30 days ago.  There is a chance of rain tonight, so everyone is keeping their fingers crossed. The crops are really suffering. We need about 3 to 4 inches soon as there are 1 1/2 inch cracks in our lawns and fields and stock ponds are getting critical. You can walk across Locust creek with 12 inch boots and not get your feet wet. :frown Regards, Rick.

Our problem is that when we have had rain it's been heavy and fast! They had an emergency work party at the gun club yesterday to clean up flood damage.

We got 1/2 an inch last night....now we need an inch/week for 6 weeks and the crops will be fine. Regards, Rick.

I should not laugh but it's hard not too they still say we are in drought yet down south in Sus*** they are flooded out near the coast and a high tide is due which will make matters worse. Parts of Wales also have flooding as well some other areas of England .................................... yet they still insist after record levels of rain fall ................................................ that there is a drought :lipsrsealed:.

I thought more than 2 days without a good rain was time to start shouting "Drought" in merrye olde!

Is that not where the term 'liquid sunshine', meaning a mist/fog/drizzle combo originated?
Or was that San Francisco?
