Decided to give the Woodpecker a birthday present - a real good clean...
After much solvent etc bore came up like a mirror, was well pleased - then I noticed something more than muck on the barrel crown.
Yup putting rifle away with moderator installed would not seem such a good idea.
Corrosion rearing its ugly head. Oh well quick call to Pacific Tool & Gauge and new 17 cal crown cutter on its way. Must be getting old this stuff never seemed to irritate me so much when I was younger!
Will cold black the muzzle thread and crown when done this time!!!!

Bummer. Had to go all the way to re-crowning, eh? Too bad. Glad to hear PTG will ship overseas.

PTG and Forster will. My .280AI chamber reamer is a PTG although I had to get that through Midway UK as PTG didn't have one in stock and Midway did the go/no-go gauges came direct for Forster.
