Default one bullet for both deer and elk

i use a 165gr ballistic tip out of my 30-06 for deer and plan on using 180gr accubonds for my first elk hunt this year. i was just wondering if it would be alright to use one bullet for both so you wouldnt have to worry about a change in POI and what not. could you use 180gr partitions or accubond for both or would there be an overpenetration issue on deer??? i dont plan on doing this i just wanted to know what you people thought.
