Well... at least you got out Paul. Getting 'out to the range' can be a problem when too much is dependent on you being 'available'. Sometimes a fella just takes on too many projects.

That business with the recoil has another aspect as well. Rotating the rifle butt around the shoulder gets you closer to the clavical and other areas not normally used at the range.

Having to test fire many, many large bore rifles over the years has made me fight shy of prone at the range to where it has almost become an article of faith.
