How to completely ruin someone's holiday & their confidence

That panic attack/autism situation is an excellent example of how people have virtually no idea of what they are talking about.
Years ago my mother was in the bank with my brother and his speech was very poor.
The teller gave him a sticker on his hand and my mother told him to say thankyou.
He was difficult to understand and a middle aged man in the queue behind my mother said "Stop mumbling and talk properly!"
My mother turned to him and said "Did you know that he's deaf? One ear has a burst eardrum from infections that would not clear up and the other is full of fluid and has been for months."
The guy's face drained of colour in shame and he said "Oh...I didn't know."
And my mum replied "No, you didn't, so perhaps in future you'll think before opening your mouth."
And I can assure you that, being someone who periodically has to deal with irrational shouting and tantrums because of my son's disorder, your assistance must've felt like a godsend to that poor woman.
