My Super Bowl special:

Ingredients:

4-5lb Boston Pork Roast
2 onions
2 cloves of garlic
liquid smoke-1 tbsp
a dash of oregano
a smiggen of hot pepper
a sprinkle of chili powder

Cut one onion into slices, place roast on top onions.
Slice second onion and lay around on roast.
Make a mixture of water, garlic, liquid smoke, all the dashes, smiggens and sprinkles.
Have enough liquid to half cover the roast.

Put in slow cooker on low and cook for 8-12 hours.  Sometime i use the oven.  300o oven, cover with aluminum foil and bake 4-6 hours.
When meat cools enough to touch- pull pork.

I use Jack Daniels Bar BQ sauce.

And as a live in the south I've learned to like cole slaw on my san-wa-ges

An old thread I know but this is something I am going to try.
I have a slow cooker and everything else and it is coming onto winter.

Can anyone please tell me, what is a "Boston Pork Roast"?
"Belief:" faith in something taught, as opposed to "knowledge:" which is awareness borne of experience.

AKA Boston Butt. It's the upper part of a hogs shoulder. We use it smoked for "pulled pork" sandwiches. Delicious and very inexpensive.
